4/29/2023 0 Comments Merlin project research group![]() Merlin is now pursuing a Master’s degree in Geosciences (Hydrogeology) with an intent to continue his educational career by pursuing a PhD in Hydro-Geophysics, with an emphasis on modeling reconstruction using the Lattice Boltzmann method. He has knowledge in Radiation Dosimetry, Radiation Protection and safe use of Radiation Sources. Merlin co-authored several papers in the field of Environmental Health Physics. ![]() He has implemented methods for soil radon measurement and radon exhalation rates in materials used for construction and decoration. He worked with the Italian Regional Agency for Environmental Protection (ARPA-FVG) in Italy on projects related to radon measurements in different matrices. Merlin is an IAEA Certified Radiation Protection Adviser (RPA). From 2002 to 2006, he worked as research scientist at the National Center for Nuclear Technology Application in Cameroon, where he tackled some problems of national interest, namely environmental radioactivity and management of radioactive waste resulting from medical and industrial application of radiation sources. Merlin is now a senior health physicist at Waste Control Specialist LLC. Merlin Ngachin, a Cameroonian native, graduated from the University of Yaoundé in Cameroon with a Master’s degree in Materials Science and a Diploma of High Studies (DHS, a 1st year Doctoral degree) in Physics of Matter and Radiation from the University of Douala.
